The second largest solar power station started working in Khmelnitsky. The capacity of the Kamyanets-Podilsky station put into operation is 63 megawatts. The station became the second largest power plant in Ukraine. It is located in Kamyanets-Podilskyi district of Khmelnitsky region in the village of Panovtsy. - reports Channel 24.
The electricity generated by the power plant will be sufficient to provide approximately 13,000 households. The ICU Group and the American VR Capital Group fund are investing in the project. The publication "Business Censor" noted that the total investment in the construction of the SES "Kamyanets-Podilsky" was about $ 55 million.
The production of clean electricity by the Kamyanets-Podilsky station is expected to allow a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by 67 thousand tons annually.
What is the ICU Group?
It is a financial group providing brokerage services, asset management services and private equity. Under its management, there are assets in excess of $ 500 million.
The station has installed 220,000 monocrystalline modules of the leading world manufacturer of solar cells and modules Longi Solar, as well as ETD power transformers.
It is noted that Kamenets-Podolsk SES is the first of the three joint projects of the ICU and VR Capital Group in the field of alternative energy.
In the near future, it is planned to launch a second solar power plant with a capacity of 35 megawatts, which is located in the Kherson region. Also, at the initial stage of construction there are several medium-sized SES in the Mykolaiv region.
It should be noted that in recent years the renewable energy market in Ukraine has been developing rapidly. Foreign companies are investing large sums in the construction of new solar and wind power plants. In particular, recently in Vinnytsia, a domestic solar panel manufacturing plant was opened. A new solar panel production plant appeared in Vinnitsa. This means that from now on Ukraine will be able to produce 100% of the solar power plants and provide the domestic market.
