S2PU Statement on International Holocaust Remembrance Day
January 27 marks the World International Holocaust Remembrance Day. On this day, we honor the memory of millions of Holocaust victims.
Over six million Jews, and millions of other victims - Ukrainians, Poles, Romans and many others - were murdered by the Nazi-German regime. May the victims' memory be eternal. #WeRemember
We pay tribute to the survivors of the concentration camps, who have the courage to share their stories and make sure that we and future generations learn about the Holocaust horrors and that these horrific crimes are never repeated. We draw inspiration for courage and compassion from those who risked life during the Holocaust to help their neighbors.
January 27 marked the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. The gates, barracks, gas chambers and crematoriums of Auschwitz-Birkenau today stand as an eternal reminder to all of us the capacity for evil and the need for ever vigilance against hostages of anti-Semitism, racism and totalitarianism.
We condemn the horrific crimes in Nazi Germany and remain united in our commitment to ensure that such crimes are never repeated.
We, Support to the people of Ukraine, encourage all Nordic countries to participate in the campaign #WeRemember, the global campaign for International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
