On the German Parliament's website, a petition was published on the recognition of the Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932-1933 as a genocide of the Ukrainian people.
This was stated by Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin, urging Ukrainians to sign the document.
"Thanks to the initiative of the Munich community and all the Ukrainians of Germany for its support. I urge Ukrainians around the world to support this appeal - everyone can sign a petition, and who knows the German language - to join in its discussion, " Klimkin said.
In order for the petition to be considered by German deputies, it is necessary to collect 50 thousand signatures by May 27.
"Our moral duty to millions of innocent victims of the Holodomor is with us, that in the world there was a memory of them, about the tragedy of the Ukrainian people. The world needs to know the truth about the bloody, carnage crimes of the Soviet regime, "he added.
Let's remind, in 2016 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine accepted the appeal to the states of the world to recognize the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
