The British Parliament has recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

Andriy Yermak, the head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

“The Parliament of the United Kingdom has adopted a resolution recognizing the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as a genocide against the Ukrainian people,” said Yermak.

“Thank you. Historical justice is key to understanding who and what represents true evil.”

As reported by the Ukrainian Pravda, the House of Commons unanimously voted for the resolution.

Conservative MP Pauline Latham who tabled the motion, stressed that the famine in Ukraine in the early 1930s was man-made, resulting from the forced seizure of crops from Ukrainian peasants.
