Croatian politician Marko Milanovic Liter spoke from the rostrum of the cathedral condemning the Holodomor organized in Ukraine by the Soviet occupiers
His speech took place on Friday, November 27, 2020. On Saturday, November 28, on Holodomor Remembrance Day, Liter together with Ukrainian diplomats joined a mourning rally near the monument to Taras Shevchenko in Zagreb, Espresso reports TV with reference to the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Croatia.
"Together with the member of the Croatian Parliament (Parliament) Marko Milanovic, Liter lit a candle in memory of the victims of the Holodomor in Ukraine.
It is our duty not only to light the candle of this mourning day, but also to light the fire in our hearts in memory of the starving Ukrainians.
We thank Mr. Marko Milanovic Liter for condemning the Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932-1933 from the rostrum of the Croatian Parliament (for the first time!) On November 27, 2020, as genocide of Ukrainians.
At the same time, Liter began his 5-minute performance with the greeting "Glory to Ukraine!".
According to him, the Holodomor is "a shame for civilization, which we should take into account in order to understand where the policy of socialism and communism is leading us."
