The Youth Charity and Peace Concert is part of the international Erasmus+ and youth initiative Youth Music for Peace, Freedom and Democracy, where young people from Norway and Ukraine work together to promote peace, freedom, democracy and international friendship.
Music has the unique ability to bring people together across borders, cultures and languages. On this evening, young musicians will use their talent and their music to send a clear message:
Music unites us – peace inspires us.

Young musicians from Norway and Ukraine
The concert will bring together youth orchestras from both countries. Among the performers already confirmed are:
- Youth Orchestra from Music School No. 10, Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine
- Souvenir Youth Brass Orchestra, Kyiv, Ukraine
- Hasle School Music Band, Oslo, Norway
These young musicians will perform both separately and together, presenting a programme that reflects the rich musical traditions of Norway and Ukraine.

Ukrainian and Norwegian artists
In addition to the youth orchestras, we have invited a number of Ukrainian and Norwegian artists to take part in this charity concert. We are currently in dialogue with several artists and will announce the confirmed programme and participating artists as soon as the agreements are in place.
The combination of professional artists and young musicians will create a unique concert experience — bringing together different generations, musical traditions and perspectives.
One of the most powerful moments of the evening will be a joint performance of the Norwegian and Ukrainian national anthems, performed together by the three youth orchestras.
This shared performance will be more than music. It will be a symbol of friendship, solidarity and respect between young people from two countries.

A concert for peace, freedom and democracy
The Youth Charity and Peace Concert is rooted in a simple belief: young people have an important role to play in shaping the future.
Through music, cultural exchange and dialogue, young people can build bridges where others see borders. They can learn from one another, develop lasting friendships and demonstrate that peace, freedom and democracy are values worth protecting.
The concert will also have a charitable purpose. It will help raise awareness and support for initiatives that strengthen youth cooperation, cultural exchange and the resilience of young people in Ukraine.
A message from the next generation
For the young people taking part, this concert is not simply about performing on one of Norway’s great stages.
It is about standing together.
It is about showing that friendship between young people can cross national borders.
And it is about sending a message to the world that the next generation wants a future built on peace, freedom, democracy and human dignity .
On 19 May 2027, Oslo Konserthus will become a meeting place for young musicians, artists, families, organisations and audiences from Norway and Ukraine.
Together, we play for peace.
