Per-Kaare Holdal, (to the left) representing Support to the People of Ukraine, recently had a constructive and inspiring meeting with H.E. Ambassador of Ukraine, Oleksiy Gavrysh, and Ms. Nataliya Marikutsa, First Secretary at the Embassy of Ukraine in Norway.
During the meeting, Holdal presented ideas and perspectives on how to foster stronger cooperation between Norwegian and Ukrainian organizations. The focus was on developing initiatives that promote knowledge, awareness, and practical engagement in the joint struggle for freedom and democracy.
The conversation underlined the importance of building bridges across borders—not only to support Ukraine in its current challenges, but also to highlight the universal value of democratic principles. Democracy should never be taken for granted. It is a living system that requires continuous effort, dialogue, and responsibility from citizens, civil society, and institutions alike.
As Ukraine defends its sovereignty and democratic path, the meeting served as a reminder that Norway and other free nations must also work consciously to safeguard and strengthen democracy at home. The exchange of knowledge and collaboration between our two nations can inspire people to engage more actively in defending the values of freedom, human rights, and solidarity.
Holdal emphasized that Support to the People of Ukraine remains committed to promoting cooperation, dialogue, and joint action. Together, we can create meaningful projects that not only support Ukraine, but also help ensure that democracy continues to thrive as a shared foundation for peace and prosperity.
