From a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate about Peace, Freedom and Democracy

Peace: Peace is more than the absence of war. Sustainable peace requires justice, respect for human rights and protection of people from violence. We must not confuse peace with occupation or freedom with submission

Freedom: Freedom cannot be taken for granted. It is fragile and must be defended every day. Ukrainians are paying a very high price for the right to determine their own future, identity and democratic choices.

Democracy:  Democracy is not something we inherit once and keep forever. We must protect it, strengthen it and actively participate in it. Civil society, independent media, human rights and the rule of law are essential to democratic societies.
