Holodomor Remembrance Day

On September 24, 2003, at the 58th session of the UN General Assembly dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933, a discussion was held on the question of the assessment of the artificially organized famine by the Soviet authorities and the commemoration of the victims of criminal acts. And on November 7, 2003, the General Assembly adopted a “Joint Statement on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Holodomor – the Great Famine of 1932-1933 in Ukraine”, which states: “The Holodomor – The Great Famine of 1932-1933 in Ukraine – took life from 7 to 10 million innocent people and became a national tragedy for the Ukrainian people”.
